The Chenzhou Municipal People’s Government and the Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Department jointly held a consultation conference on promoting the “Two-oriented Society” construction in Chenzhou City on June 20. The Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Department agreed to give preferential support to 11 projects of the city. Wang Kemin, director of the department and Xiang Lili, mayor of Chenzhou, attended the meeting. 

Keeping abreast of the current situation, Chenzhou should take innovation as a vital force in driving the“ Two-oriented Society” construction and the implementation of the city’s planning scheme on building up the most open city in Hunan Province and the central city in the border area of Hunan, Guangxi and Guangdong provinces, Director Wang urged.

He added that particular attention must be paid to upgrading scientific innovation capabilities to propel industrial development and benefit people’s well-being. 

Mayor Xiang expressed his gratitude to the department’s support to the city. He said Chenzhou must carry out a series of major scientific innovation projects to overcome its dependence on resource suppliers. The industrial transformation and upgrading will be accelerated to inject vitality into economic development with high quality.
