An investigation team of National People's Congress (NPC) visited Chenzhou City of Hunan Province from July 6 to 7 for a survey of its geological environment management.

Headed by Tao Qingfa, deputy director of the Department of Geological Environment of the Ministry of Land and Resources of the PRC, experts paid visits to Shizhu Park in Chenzhou city proper, Shoufo Temple and Baoyuan Primary School of Dongjiang Town in Zixing County, and Baoshan Mine in Guiyang County.

Through field visits and related data, the team recognized the achievements Chenzhou has made in recent years in geological environment management and prevention and control of geological disasters. The Ministry of Land and Resources will offer preferential policies, allocate fund and sponsor programs in this aspect.

Liu Xiang'e, deputy to NPC and former director of the Standing Committee of Chenzhou Municipal People's Congress, Zhong Xiuping, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Chenzhou Municipal People's Congress, and Shou Jianzhong, vice mayor of Chenzhou, took part in the investigation.
