From August 5 to 6, Chen Zhaoxiong, secretary of the Working Committee of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan (CZT) National Pilot Zone made an investigation on development of "Two-oriented" (resource-saving and environment-friendly) industries and construction of "Two-oriented" Society in Chenzhou City.

Chenzhou-Zixing-Guiyang (CZG) was approved by Hunan Provincial People's Government as a Demonstration Area for "Two-oriented" Society construction, marking the second provincial-level demonstration area for "Two-oriented" Society construction following Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan pilot area.

At present, 152 major construction projects have decided to settle in the zone, with the estimated investment totaling 75 billion yuan. 140 projects have started construction in the first half of this year.

Chenzhou boasts unique advantages in geological location, industrial foundation and development idea, meeting the requirements of accelerating "Two-oriented" Society construction. Mr. Chen hoped Chenzhou could integrate the construction philosophy of "Two-oriented" Society into all aspects of economic and social growth: focusing on transforming development model and readjusting economic structure; giving priorities to reform and opening up as well as system and mechanism innovation; highlighting energy conservation and environment protection, and advancing ecological improvement; making an overall plan and improving people's livelihood; and giving the exemplary role to Chenzhou-Zixing-Guiyang Demonstration Zone.
