A ceremony announcing the opening of Yizhang-Fengtouling Expressway was held at South Yizhang Toll Station on the morning of September 25.

 
Yizhang-Fengtouling Expressway, the second expressway down to Guangzhou starting from Hunan Province, meets Qinglian Expressway in Guangdong Province, and linked up the road network of Pan-Pearl River Delta (Pan-PRD), making itself a shortcut to the sea and to south China.

Yang Jie, president of Hunan Yilian Expressway Development Co. Ltd, introduced that Yizhang-Fengtouling Expressway, as the key project in Hunan's Eleventh Five-Year plan for transportation stretches a distance of 48.45 km and boasts a total investment of over 2.7 billion yuan. It plays an important role in connecting the expressway network of "Five vertical and seven horizontal expressways" in Hunan.

Ouyang Feng, head of Yizhang County remarked on the ceremony that Yizhang-Fengtouling Expressway connects Hunan, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau together and will have strategic impact on promoting the scientific development of Yizhang and the economic growth of area along the line.

Xiang Shuguang, secretary of the CPC Yizhang County Committee presided over the ceremony. Secretary of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee Dai Daojin announced the opening of the expressway to traffic at the ceremony.
