Chenzhou City accomplished the task of purchasing 50 million kilograms of tobacco leaves on October 28, 2011, making a historical breakthrough.

Chenzhou Mayor Xiang Lili, Vice Mayor Chen Haiping and Secretary General of the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government Zhang Yangping investigated the city's work on tobacco industry.

After listening to the work report from the city's tobacco departments, Mayor Xiang spoke highly of tobacco industry's contribution to the local economic development and the promotion of modern agricultural development with modern tobacco agriculture's progress. He said that the completion of the task is a milestone in Chenzhou's tobacco leaf industrial development.

Xiang requested that Chenzhou should strive to purchase 60 million kilograms of tobacco leaves next year and spare no efforts to make preliminary work for the production of tobacco leaves.
