The plan for Chenzhou City's three-dimensional urban greening project was put forward recently. Via the implementation of greening project in special areas such as roofs and walls, Chenzhou will strive to be a city lavished with green mountains and gardens, covering a three-dimensional greening area of 2 million square meters in 2013. According to the plan the design scheme of roofs and walls will have to be provided when planning and designing new public buildings.
   

Compensation will be granted to those organizations, social groups and individuals who implement the three-dimensional greening project approved by the gardening departments. 0.5 yuan per plant will be subsidized for vertical greening in greenbelts, and 10 yuan per meter for building planters. For the area of roof greening more than 100 square meters, 30 yuan per square meter will be compensated based on the actual greening area. In addition, special appraisal activities will be carried out by Chenzhou municipal and district governments to reward those who effectively contribute to the urban greening through planting of more flowers on the windowsills or balconies.
