Recently, the preliminary work conference for Yongzhou-Chenzhou railway construction was held in Guiyang county, Chenzhou city. On the conference, experts from No.2 Bureau of China Railway presented a detailed description of the planning for Yongzhou-Chenzhou railway, and listed some suggestions. On the basis of the local practical condition, all the attendants seriously studied the direction of this railway and delivered some useful comments and suggestions accordingly. After the detailed discussion, the railway direction was confirmed to be started from Lingling district of Yongzhou, Shuangpai County, Xintian County, then Guiyang County of Chenzhou, Chenzhou city. This railway is 190 kilometers long, and the part in Chenzhou city is about 70 kilometers.

It was figured out on the conference that as an extension project for Guizhou-Yongzhou railway, Yongzhou-Chenzhou railway is with important significance to promote the economy development of south of Hunan area as well as boost the undertaking industrial transfer in this area.

It was required by the conference that all the relative counties and cities need to do well in the preliminary work of Yongzhou-Chenzhou railway, namely, the railway survey and design as well as set up special departments to be responsible for the matters concerned, striving to smoothly carry out the construction work of Yongzhou - Chenzhou railway and promote Chenzhou’s transportation development.
