370 Excellent Tourism Cities Available in China

Recently, the Deputy Director of National Tourism Bureau- Du Jiang stated in the forum of 3rd world tourism city mayors that there are 370 excellent tourism cities available in China now.

 

Du said the tourism industry suffered a setback in the 2008 world financial crisis, but it recovered soon. especially China’s tourism kept a stable increasing trend, which became a light spot in international economy development. Now more countries and areas place the tourism development as a national strategy. For China, the Party Central Committee and the State Council specified clearly that the tourism industry should be cultivated as the strategic pillar industry and a modern service industry which can well meet people’s demands.

 

Du also stated that it was an important carrier for the tourism development. With the establishment of excellent tourism city, China tourism destination system construction is accelerating and China tourism cities charm is upgraded as well. During the process, National Tourism Bureau cooperated with UN Tourism Organization which made Hangzhou, Dalian and Chengdu successfully listed as the best tourism cities in the world and upgraded Chinese excellent tourism city construction with international standards.
It was learned that China had started the construction of excellent tourism cities from 1998. Regulations such as “the inspection standards for China excellent tourism city” etc. were discharged, which helped to set the scientific proof for the construction. Now, tourism constructions assist the city to be improved in different aspects, like economy development, well-being conditions, more job vacancies, city cultural strengths, etc..

 

The forum of 3rd world tourism city mayors is held by National Tourism Bureau and Henan Province Government in Zhengzhou every two years. In this term, the senior representatives from UN World Tourism Organization, World Tourism Industry Board, and Tourism Association of Asia and Pacific Areas, and national tourism department principals from Malaysia, Korea and other countries attended this forum and shared their opinions with each other with the theme of “tourism- energy of one city’s development”.
