When the reporters arrived at Xiangnan University on October 11, 2012, long queues had been lined up by many students who planned to donate blood. That was one image for the activity named “blood donation for country” held by Chenzhou Central Blood Station and Xiangnan University. “Blood donation is not as horrible as it is described by someone earlier; at least there is no headache for me till now so that I will attend more such similar activities in the future and encourage more friends to take part in blood donation.”

It was learned that in order to carry out “Blood Donation Law of People’s Republic of China” and enhance the blood donation propaganda in colleges, Chenzhou Central Blood Station held a special forum on blood donation and dispatched brochures in Xiangnan University before the day of the blood donation activity. With good preparation and propaganda, students of Xiangnan University took a positive part in the blood donation. Just after one hour, more than 60 students donated their blood, which was quite beyond the blood station’s expectation. The staff from the blood station followed strict checking processes before collecting blood with the aim of health and safety.
