The inauguration conference of Hunan Provincial Graphite Standardization Technical Committee and its first committee session was held in Chenzhou city on November 14, 2012.

Graphite Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center was settled down in Chenzhou city in 2010. Microcrystalline graphite enterprise standard drafted by this center was the first standard of the graphite module products in China. Afterward, the center undertook the research task on the determination method of calcium contents in high purity graphite and successfully set its Hunan provincial standard. It was learned that the Secretariat of the newly inaugurated Hunan Provincial Graphite Standardization Technical Committee was subordinate to this center.

It was introduced that Hunan province abounds in graphite resources and the graphite industrial system with the functions of research, development, design and production was established in Hunan province with decades’ efforts. But there exist some gaps compared to national and international advanced levels, especially on some advanced high technological products. The establishment of Technical Committee of Standardization of Hunan graphite would play a more important role in the development and application of graphite carbon products, research and formulation of product standards and testing methods, research of recycling economy and energy saving, etc. and then upgrade Hunan province discourse power in this industry.
