It was learned from the 48th meeting of 4th defense branch of 5th defense area of Hunan-Guangdong-Jiangxi border forest reserve defense committee that the “defense mechanism of migratory bird protection” was covered into “Hunan-Guangdong-Jiangxi forest protection defense convention” signed by four towns and three counties, which marked the three provinces would establish a joint defense mechanism of law enforcement, construction, and dissemination to protect the migratory birds of central China.

Guicong county of Chenzhou city is located in the south section of Luoxiao Mountain, which is the second largest bird channel for migratory birds to migrate southward. This channel is about 30kms wide and 40kms long. Around the time of autumnal equinox, there is a surge of powerful airflow blowing from the northwest to southeast, which is greatly helpful for migratory birds to leap the mountain passes and start their migratory ways.

It was learned that the border forest protection defense committee was established in 1964. Oujiang town of Guidong county, Xiaxiang village of Yanling county, Daijiapu town and Yingpanxu town of Suichuang county were listed in the forth defense branch of the fifth defense area, which is in charge of 100kms forest protection line. With the great efforts of defense branches on illegal behaviors of destroying forest resources in the past 48 years, the forestry production in this area was well protected. It will be helpful to prevent the behaviors of bird capturing, sale and transportation and protect the “millennium bird channel”, once the defense mechanism is established and kept to be a regular system.
