On January 31, two new national industrialization demonstration bases in Hunan, namely, demonstration bases for equipment manufacturing industry in the Yiyang High-tech Zone and army-civilian collaboration industry in the Yuhu District of Xiangtan, were approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) as the fourth batch of New National Industrialization Demonstration Base.
Since 2009, 185 national industrialization demonstration bases have been approved by MIIT nationwide at its first three batches, including 9 ones in Hunan, which respectively are demonstration bases for equipment manufacturing industry in the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Xiangtan High-tech Zone and the Zhuzhou High-tech Zone, steel industries in the Loudi Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Hengyang High-tech Zone, chemical new material in the Yunxi Industrial Park, army-civilian collaboration industries in the Dongjiaduan High-tech Park and the Pingjiang Industrial Park and automobile industry in the Changsha Yuhua Industrial Park
Up till now, there are a total of 11 national industrialization bases in Hunan, ranking fifth in the country and first in central and western China.
