“One Hundred People’s Live Painting and Calligraphy Activity ” was held by Chenzhou Retired Cadres (Edged) University in Beihu Lake on June 1, 2013. It was intended to carry forward the quintessence of Chinese culture, heritage the art of painting and calligraphy, share the skills and enlighten the younger generation’s interest in the painting and calligraphy.
It was introduced that more than 100 people from Chenzhou Retired Cadres (Edged) University, Chenzhou Painting and Calligraphy Association, and some colleges attended this activity. Hundreds of fined works were done by them on site.
Many citizens were attracted to enjoy this activity when they passed by. Some of them were purposely to be here after hearing about this activity news. It was said by one of the parents who came together with their children that it was significant to hold such kind of cultural activity and their children enjoyed the art well.
Some visitors expressed their concern that the young people paid much more attention on pen and computer, but had less knowledge of calligraphic art currently. Mr. Li who was born in 1980s’ said that he would ask his children to study calligraphy in future, because traditional culture should be inherited generation by generation.
Most of the works done by the people in the activity were for the charm of Chenzhou city which highly helped to enrich people’s cultural life.
