Special interview with Tuo Dengjun- head of Guiyang county which was one of the top ten strong counties of Hunan county economy development

Guiyang county accelerated its pace of transformation and upgrading of industries in recent years on the basis of abundant resources. With all Guiyang county people’s efforts, it was awarded as one of the top ten strong counties of Hunan county economy development in consecutive years. “It is an honor, but a kind of pressure as well. Now Hunan county economy working conference is holding in Chenzhou city, which will be helpful to promote its further development.”

Tuo stated that there were some special features for Guiyang county’s economic development. First, its mineral industry was kept for upgrading, especially for the fine processing of mineral products. Some non-ferrous metal, lead and zinc smelting industry were with sound progress, which helped to get the approval of establishment of non-ferrous metallurgical processing zone by Hunan Government. Second, its new emerged industries as electronics was also gradually developed with sound trend. Some high-tech projects were introduced into the county which helped to upgrading the industrial structure of Guiyang county.

Tuo said that Guiyang county would focus on the following four aspects on the basis of this conference. First, promoting county economy by the transformation of urban and rural development with more ecological urban area and better urbanization condition of rural area; second, promoting county economy by undertaking industrial transfer with better platform to attract investment; third, promoting county economy by industrial transformation with deepen fine processing industry development; forth, promoting county economy by the transformation of cadres’ working style.

“The estimated target for 2013 county economy development is to reach more 2 billion yuan fiscal revenue, hopefully 2.3 billion yuan, which is about 24% higher than last year. Guiyang county should keep playing the leading role in the Chenzigui integration development.” said Tuo. In order to proceed the further county economy development, Guiyang would implement more development ideas. It was purposely to establish a new city in the west part of Chenzhou city with two features of “Jiangnan style” and “south Hunan folk houses”. At the meantime, people would transform to live together in high rise buildings with the identity as a resident of urban city.
