Symposium for honorary chairmen of the third Hunan arts and crafts industry was held in Chenzhou city
Symposium for honorary chairman of the third Hunan arts and crafts industry was held in Chenzhou city on September 15, 2013. It was reported that the industrial output value of arts and crafts was hit 3 billion yuan in Chenzhou city in 2012, 200 million yuan of which was paid for the state’s tax.
Concerning for the whole Hunan province, the output value was amounted to 67 billion yuan in 2012, covering 3% of total GDP. According to the data, currently, there are about 60 above-scale enterprises of arts and crafts industry and many small or medium-sized ones available in Chenzhou city, employing about 10000 people.
The industry’s development condition, problems, further development and other issues were discussed in the symposium. Wang Keying- former Chairman of Hunan Provincial CPPCC and honorary Chairman of Hunan Arts and Crafts Association stated that much more attention should be placed by all the cities on the edition of “Complete Works of Chinese Arts and Crafts”in following step. At the meantime, better talent cultivation and inheritance of traditional art skills should be promoted on the basis of local condition to further improve the arts and crafts industry.
In the afternoon, all the attendants of this symposium visited Guiyang Baoshan Mine Park. It was introduced that Chenzhou Arts and Crafts Exhibition would be held during the third China Chenzhou International Tourism and Culture Festival in Guiyang county,
