2013-12-31

Hengchaji railway was operated for test run with freight train on December 28, 2013

It was learned from Yichun Train Operation Depot of Nanchang Railway Bureau that Hengchaji railway was operated for test run on December 28, 2013. But during the test run, it was only for freight train. Passengers who expected to take Hengjicha railway have to wait till next first quarter. Along with the operation of Hengjicha railway, Anren county’s history without train was gone.

It was introduced that Hengjicha railway is located in the mid-east region of Hunan province and west region of Ji’an city, Jiangxi province. It was derived from Hengyang hub of Jiangguang railway, which would be by way of Hengnan county and Hengdong county of Hengyang city, Anren county of Chenzhou city, Youxian county, Chaling county, and Yanling county of Zhuzhou city, Luoxiao mountain, Jinggangshan city and ended on Jinggangshan station of Jijing line.

This 211.456 kilometers long Hengjicha railway was set 49.318 kilometers in Jiangxi province and 162.138 kilometers in Hunan province. Wencha contact line is about 54.041 kilometers (40.915 kilometers are in Hunan province). Hengjicha railway is a national I grade single-track railway with the designed speed of 160 km / h and reserved condition of 200 km / h.

Hengjicha railway is an important east-west connecting line for the north-south arterial lines of Jingguang and Jingjiu railway and is also a golden east-west railway transportation channel for Jiangxi and Hunan province. It would become a regional arterial line for the communication among southwest area and southeast coastal areas by connecting with Xianggui line, Xiangqian line and planning Huashaoheng line westward and with Jingguang line and Ganlong line eastward. Not only for the increasing of east-west transportation channels, it also played an important role in strengthening the road network.

Once Hengjicha railway opened to public, the transportation cost for Anren county’s rice, vegetables and some other agricultural products and minerals must be decreased accordingly, which would be helpful for Anren county’s further development.
