It was learned from the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture that Guiyang county was enrolled into the list of national demonstration counties of leisure agriculture and rural tourism. Total 38 counties won this title. Guiyang county was the exclusive one from Hunan province.

In recent years, Guiyang county paid great attention on the establishment of national demonstration county of leisure agriculture and rural tourism. On the basis of its unique county culture, farming culture, mining culture, culture of three kingdoms, papermaking culture, and Kunqu opera culture, Guiyang county took active actions on the development of combination of agriculture and leisure, culture and tourism and science and art. Furthermore, some famous experts were hired to figure out the“conceptual general planning of Guiyang county’s leisure agriculture and rural tourism”to handle the establishment issues scientifically.

In recent years, over 2 billion yuan has been invested on 26 key leisure agriculture and rural tourism projects. Series high level agricultural enterprises as Qixiu Leisure Farm, Yangshanhu Agricultural Ecological Park, and etc. were cultivated successfully in Guiyang county. Besides those, a theme cultural farm of Shennong filed with over 1 billion yuan investment has been started the construction issues, which was expected to be finished as a 5A vacation resort with the functions of farming culture, ecological rural tourism, vacation, leisure and sports in three years. At the meantime, the development of Chonglingjiang cultural and ecological landscape tourism belt was launched as well, which was purposely to forge a east“Venice”on the basis of the county’s mother river- Chongling river.

According to statistics, 126 leisure agriculture enterprises and rural tourism destinations were available in Guiyang county now. One of them is national demonstration spot of leisure agriculture and rural tourism, 8 are star-level leisure farms and 6 are star-level rural tourism destinations. All of them are with different styles, such as the folk culture style of Yangshan ancient village, leisure style of Qixiu leisure farm, experience style of Baoshan National Mine Park, and some other styles as sightseeing, scientific demonstration, and etc. 1.85 million visitors were attracted to Guiyang county, which helped the achieve a comprehensive income of 890 million yuan in the county.
