It was reported that Yanru expressway was opened to public on December 30, 2013.

Yanru expressway is the south part of Yueru expressway-a north-south expressway of Hunan province expressway network, parallel to Jinggang’ao expressway. It is 151.184 kilometers long from Yanling county, Zhuzhou city, via Guidong county and ends in Sanjiangkou, Rucheng county.

Yanru expressway helps to connect with Hengyan expressway northward, Yuexiang expressway southward and Xiarong expressway eastward. On its opening to public, Guidong county has its first expressway and it indicates that Guidong and Rucheng mountainous counties are covered into the arterial road network of Hunan province and become traffic node counties.

Yanru expressway was constructed with four-lane express standard and designed speed of 80kilometers/h. Its roadbed width is about 24.5 meters paved with asphalt concrete pavement. One mainline toll gate, 9 ramp toll gates, 3 service centers, 3 parking slots, 3 tunnel tubes and 3 conservation centers were set along the expressway separately.

Yanru expressway is one of the mountainous expressways of Hunan province with the hardest difficulties. 135 bridges and 22 tunnels were required to be built for the expressway. Currently, the final part from Jingpo to the terminal is still under construction for its complex geological condition, which is estimated to be finished in 2014.
