As stated on the press conference of National Grand Theater which was held on February 3, 2015 that “Kuqun opera week”which was sponsored by National Grand Theater and Beijing Cultural Bureau would be handled out from February 27 to March 19, 2015. Hunan Kuanqu Opera Troupe would perform “Peony Pavilion”of Tianxiang version on March 3, 2015, which was their first show on National Grand Theater.

It was introduced that “Peony Pavilion”of Tianxiang version means “national beauty and heavenly fragrance”. It was handed down from Master Yan Huizhu and Yu Zhengfei to their students Zhang Xunpeng and Cai Zhengren, and then handed down to Hunan Kunqu Opera Troupe.

Du Liniang is acted by Luo Yan- national first-class actor and Lei Ling- Plum Blossim Prize-winner and Liu Mengmei is acted by Wang Fuweng- one of the students of Cai Zhengren on the“Peony Pavilion”of Tianxiang version. This opera firstly hit the ground running on last November 27 on“dating with Chenzhou” activity which was sponsored by Chenzhou city, and was well praised by the audience. During “Kuqun opera week”, Hunan Kunqu Opera Troupe and all other top seven Kunqu opera troupes of China would perform their excellent works on National Grand Theater and Chang’an Grand Theater, and would show the elegance of Kunqu opera to all audience.
