Upgrading Oil Tea Industry

In order to improve the sustainable development of oil tea industry of Chenzhou City, optimize its economic structure, and improve the oil tea industry, Chenzhou Government issued “4-year action on improving oil tea industry of Chenzhou City”. 

 

Chenzhou City is a famous “country of oil tea” with long history. It is one of the six key production areas of oil tea of Hunan Province and enjoys a good reputation for its excellent quality. There are 2.04million mu oil tea lands available in Chenzhou City, accounting for 9.8% of total forest areas. 48 enterprises, 22 professional cooperatives, and 75 major planters who manage over 300mu lands handle the business there. According to the record, over 6 million oil tea seedlings are proceeded for grafting in 6 oil tea base of Chenzhou City. 135mu oil tea seedlings of 4 state-owned nursery gardens are handled the graft and changed crown, which ensures the demands of development of oil tea industry.

 

A leading team concerned for the development of oil tea industry was established in Chenzhou City, which is aimed to improve oil tea industry and establish the brand and whole industrial chain. As per the plan, 50,000mu new oil tea forest will be planted during 2016-2019, 200,000mu in total, so the total areas of oil tea forest will be reached 2.20million mu by 2019. The low yield forest will be improved as well, one million mu of which will be finished in 4 years. 50 oil tea counties (towns) with 10,000mu oil tea forest, 5000 villages with 1000mu oil tea forest, and 5000 oil tea farms with 100mu oil tea forests will be improved in Chenzhou City.

 

It aims to establish a standard oil tea industrial park with sound facilities and driving forces under high standards via improving whole industrial chain of oil tea, as well as cultivate 5 leading companies with sound operation system and innovative capacity. The yield capacity of oil tea can be amounted to 50,000tons by 2019, accounting for 6billion yuan annual output value. It also aims to improve oil tea brand to be another “name card” of Chenzhou City by popularizing its fame in Hunan Province even China.
