In the morning of January 13, the city's forest fire prevention work was held in Rucheng County. The meeting summed up the city's forest fire prevention work in 2016 and deployed the related work in 2017.

It was understood that since 2014, our city had continued to increase investment in infrastructure construction of forest fire prevention, and effectively enhance the ability of forest defense technical support. Up to now, our city has invested 17 million yuan, built six cities, county-level forest fire control center and 47 video surveillance points, equipped with a mobile phone positioning management system for more than 2,700 rangers to achieve the grid management of video surveillance and mobile phone location system of ranger. In 2016, only 38 forest fires occurred throughout the year, decreasing by 66% compared with the same period in 2015 and no major forest fires and casualties happened. It was the best year of the forest fire situation in our history. At present, our city has a total of 12 professional forest fire teams and 362 people, 180 of semi-professional firefighting teams and 6212 people, 11 of militia forest fire emergency units and 1276 people.

It was required in the meeting, the city departments at all levels should seriously study the situation, raise awareness, strengthen the sense of responsibility and urgency of forest fire prevention work; highlight the key areas, focus groups and key period, do a good job on publicity and education, on fire control, on fire control, on routine dispatching and on fighting the fire to firmly grasp the initiative in forest fire prevention work; strengthen measures and effectively promote to ensure the responsibility of forest fire prevention to implement and promote the city forest fire prevention work to a new level.

On the same day, the participants also went to the construction site of forest fire control center, professional fire brigade and other places in Rucheng County to site visit.
