On August 9, Liu Zhiren, Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City, led a team to Guidong County to conduct research on poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Liu Zhiren emphasized that it is necessary to vigorously develop the industry through the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, further consolidate the effectiveness of poverty alleviation, improve the quality of poverty alleviation, and achieve sustainable and high-quality development in poverty-stricken areas.

In Guangming Village, Oujiang Town, Guidong County, Liu Zhiren visited Guo Xiaoqin, a representative of the National People's Congress, and listened to her views and suggestions on rural revitalization. He stated that in order to consolidate the results of poverty alleviation and promote rural revitalization, the key is to improve the industrial development. Guidong's ecological advantages are unique. It should combine local ecological environment and climate characteristics to give better layout of rural industry, find main market body in many aspects, and develop rural inn industry. More new elements should be applied to upgrade rural tourism quality and meet the demands of tourism, which is purposely to increase the income of villagers.

In Qiuli Village of Ou’jiang Town, Guidong County, Liu Zhiren and his team checked the development of Chinese herbal medicine and rural inn industry. He said that more attention should be paid on cultivation of industries, government guidance, association, safety, quality, maintenance of environmental condition, education of local people, and etc. Some characteristic industries should be developed according to local conditions. The poverty alleviation quality as well as effectiveness should be upgraded via development of industry.

Liu Zhiren and his team visited Huaneng Hunan Guidong Wind Power Co., Ltd. And investigated some industrial projects. They also visited Zhaiqian Town and checked the status of rural revitalization demonstration belt from Zhaiqian Town to Guidong downtown.

Liu Zhiren stated that the concept of ‘ecology first, green development’ which was listed by Xi Jinping should be well applied to promote the poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. People should be benefited from the industrial development. Enterprises should handle more social responsibilities. The poverty families should be encouraged to fight for themselves. More people should get involved in the rural revitalization to improve the living condition of rural areas and increase the income of villagers.
