On August 17, Huang Caiwen, a farmer from Dawangzhai Village, Tangdong Street, Zixing City, was busy with his son Huang Lei using plant protection drones to spray pesticides on rice, while coordinating the online sales of vegetable bases by telephone. In 2015, Huang Caiwen transferred more than 600 mu of abandoned land to set up family farms to provide jobs for local villagers and develop high-quality rice, green vegetables and Chinese herbal medicines. Today, just Zixing City has 16 such “poor poverty-stricken farms”.
