From August 14 to 15, Hu Bojun, Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, led an investigation group to conduct a special investigation on the work and construction of the people's congress. Zhang Aiguo, Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Municipal People's Congress, participated in the investigation.

The delegates of the investigation group went to liaison workstations of people's congress deputies in Beihu, Guidong and Rucheng to investigate the work of people's congress in villages and towns (streets) on the spot and hold the forum.

At the forum, the investigation team and his delegation listen to a report on the work and construction of the people's congress of our city. Since the 18th National Congress, the people's congresses at all levels and their standing committees have performed their duties in accordance with the law and faithfully for the people, made new achievements in focusing on the center and serving the overall situation, made new progress in seeking truth, innovating and optimizing their duties, made new breakthroughs in improving the system and strengthening supervision, and achieved new results in strengthening the foundation and building the "two organs". The work of the people's congress has many bright spots, which has made useful exploration for promoting the high-quality development of the work of the local people's congresses.

Delegates to the people's congresses at all levels exchanged speeches on the work experience of the grass-roots people's congresses and the difficulties to be solved urgently. Organizations, editorial offices and financial departments at the municipal and county levels have reported on staffing, cadre contingent building and financial support in the construction of the people's congress.

Hu Bojun fully affirmed the achievements of the people's congress work of our city. He pointed out that we should further study and implement Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era, especially General Secretary Xi's important thought on upholding and improving the people's congress system; should strictly implement the responsibility system of ideological work, strengthen the news and propaganda work of the people's congress in the new era, and firmly promote the integration of socialist core values into local legislation and the construction of the rule of law; should carry out in-depth thematic education activities of "never forget the original intention and remember the mission", embody the effectiveness of thematic education in the work of the people's congress in the new era, and constantly promote the high-quality development of the work of the people's congress.
