Recently, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration issued the notice of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration on the "Acceptance Results of the National Wetland Park Pilot Project in 2020". The construction of Chenzhou Xihe National Wetland Park and Anren Yonglejiang National Wetland Park Pilot Project has passed the acceptance of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and officially become a national wetland park.

Since the State Forestry Administration (now known as the State Forestry and Grassland Administration) approved the pilot construction of Chenzhou Xihe National Wetland Park and Anren Yonglejiang National Wetland Park in 2015, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government have attached great importance to it, adhered to the principle of "comprehensive protection, scientific restoration, reasonable utilization and sustainable development", and built the national characteristic wetland park with high standard, high quality and high level in the pilot construction of National Wetland Park, have made solid progress in system construction, demarcation and benchmarking, wetland conservation, science popularization and education, and community co construction, have successfully completed the task of pilot construction, and built a "Chenzhou Model" for the pilot construction of National Wetland Park, which has been praised by experts from the national inspection group.

Chenzhou Xihe National Wetland Park covers Xihe River and its source Yangtian lake mountain wetland and its surrounding areas. It flows through 12 townships (towns and streets) of Beihu, Guiyang, Suxian and Yongxing counties and joins Leishui at Tangmenkou of Yongxing County, with a total length of 167 km. The total area of the wetland park is 1578 hectares, including 1128.8 hectares of wetland area, with a wetland rate of 71.53 percent.

According to the survey by the end of 2020, there are 700 species of plants and 206 species of wetland plants in the wetland park. Compared with the initial stage of Wetland Park pilot construction, there are 81 species of wetland plants and 40 species of vertebrates. After years of protection and restoration, the wetland park has formed a sustainable development model characterized by good resource endowment, wetland protection of the whole basin, wetland conservation, science popularization and education, and ecotourism. It has become a demonstration National Wetland Park in southern Hunan to build a community of landscape, forest, field, lake and grass life.

The planning area of Anren Yonglejiang National Wetland Park is 1115.66 hectares. The wetland habitat is diverse, including many natural habitats such as river, pond and forest. It is located in Danxia landform area of Dukou Township in Yonglejiang River Basin. There are 677 species of plants in Wetland Park, belonging to 143 families and 373 genera, including 3 species of national second-class key protected wild plants; there are 224 species of vertebrates in 83 families of 31 orders, including 2 species of national first-class protected animals and 13 species of national second-class protected animals. After several years of construction, the comprehensive protection mode with Yongle River as the core has been basically established, the science popularization and education system with the theme of natural environment education has gradually been completed, and the function of serving the public, community co construction and promoting regional coordinated development has become increasingly prominent.

Up to now, there are four officially awarded National Wetland Parks in our city, including Dongjiang Lake National Wetland Park, Guiyang Chongling National Wetland Park, Chenzhou Xihe National Wetland Park, and Anren Yonglejiang National Wetland Park; Jiahe Zhongshui River National Wetland Park is under pilot construction.
