Farmers busy planting strawberries

The photos taken on July 12 show that farmers are busy weeding in the strawberry seedling field in Tianhuling Village, Beihu District, Chenzhou City.
In March this year, the Happy Farm in Huatang Town, Beihu District, tried to grow 60 mu (4 hectares) of strawberries in this village. The high altitude, low temperature, good water quality as well as fertile soil are favorable for the growth of the strawberry seedlings. The farm has managed to grow strawberry seedlings of different varieties such as Sweet Charlie.
Next, it plans to expand the seedling-growing base by 400 mu (about 26 hectares), which means it will no longer need to purchase the strawberry seedlings from other places. This will surely promote the development of local strawberry industry and provide jobs for local villagers.
