Photos taken on July 8 show that Zeng Xinlin, a technician from Fucheng Biotechology Co., Ltd in Meitian Town, Yizhang County, Chenzhou City checks the growth of glossy Ganoderma in a greenhouse. “This glossy ganoderma can be harvested in three months. What we should do is to control moisture content and spray water on it twice a day,” said Zeng Xinlin.
In May, 2013, Huang Fenglan, now the owner of the glossy Ganoderma base, returned to her hometown—Xiatang Village, Meitian Town, and learned the planting technique of edible fungi. Afterwards, she founded Fucheng Biotechology Co., Ltd and Yongxie Planting Cooperative in Yizhang County. She has developed edible fungi industry and set up demonstration bases focusing on glossy ganoderma and mushrooms, which helped boost the local economy. What’s more, she provides technological guidance and training for villagers as well as jobs for over 1,000 villagers nearby.
“She really cares about me. I’ve been working here for three years. I can get 2,000 yuan if I work full time. It takes merely five or six minutes to get to the base, which enables me to take care of the family after work,” said Chen Youyun. “My two children are studying in junior colleges. I believe our life will get better,” he added.
At present, the base has developed spin-off products like glossy ganoderma power, bonsai, wine, chicken, tea, and have applied 7 patents among which three patents have been authorized.
“I’m confident that the glossy ganoderma base will be bigger and stronger, and will inject new vitality to rural revitalization by providing more opportunities for villagers,” said Huang Fenglan. In the next stage, she will set up a glossy Ganoderma demonstration park which integrates viewing, picking, processing and museum.
