Photos taken on July 18 show that villagers are busy harvesting early rice and planting late rice in Ruixi Village, Guangfa Township, Jiahe County.

During the short time window in middle and late July, which is called “shuangqiang” or “rush-harvesting and rush-planting”, villagers are helping each other to plow the farmland and plant rice seedlings for a bumper harvest of late rice.
