The Fourth Golden Plum Cultural Tourism Festival was held in Shazhou Village, Rucheng County.
Rucheng County has more than 30 years’ history of planting Naili (the golden plum), with a planting area of 60,000 mu (4,000 hectares), of which 38,000 mu (about 2,533 hectares) of the plum trees can bear fruit. The annual output reaches 76,000 tons, generating an annual production value of 760 million yuan. The local government has set up a demonstration base of 12,000 mu (800 hectares).
The advanced technology and bagging techniques give birth to big and tasty golden plums. The plum which gains its name from its unique color has become a money-spinner for the local residents. To achieve a boom in the production and sales, the local government has successively held cultural festivals since 2018.
During the event, 26 live-streaming teams carried out online sales at the same time. Over 7 million people watched the webcast and more than 32.07 million people read and posted the information via social media like Wechat, Tiktok, Weibo, etc.
The event has attracted more than 10,000 visitors on that day and witnessed fruitful results, with the sales of 65,000 kg, 13 contracted buyers, and contracted orders of 8.7 million kg which will be sent to cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen and Changsha.
During the festival, the online and offline sales reached 15.6 million kg during the festival and the total sales reached 24.3 million kg. What’s more, the festival also drove the sales of other agricultural and sideline products.
