Photos taken on October 30 show villagers spray organic pesticides at Xiangjiangyuan Vegetable Base in Jinping Town of Jiahe County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province.

The base is currently thriving with all kinds of vegetables growing well. Villagers are busy fertilizing, sprinkling pesticides, watering and weeding. Recent years have seen the local government’s efforts in encouraging villagers to develop ecological agriculture by setting up vegetable bases and adopting the method of continuous cropping at all seasons to grow various seasonal vegetables. And all the vegetables produced are sold to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which effectively promotes the employment and income increase of local villagers.
