Recently, the NPC standing committees of Renhua County, Guangdong Province and Rucheng County, Hunan Province led relative departments to inspect and exchange the development of Baimao (white-hair) Tea industry.
After learning that the Hongshan Baimao Tea tastes soft and sweet while the Rucheng Baimao Tea tastes tender and has a distinctive flavor, the local governments of the two places decided to work together to develop the industry.
Linked by rivers and mountains, Rucheng County and Renhua County are next to each other. Both of them are very suitable for the growth of Baimao Tea. The rare and precious Baimao Tea has won 2 gold medals in China and Paris, and been rated as a national GI agricultural product and selected into the protection list of the Agriculture Ministry.
Under the guidance of a team led by Liu Zhonghua, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Rucheng County has made continuous efforts to expand tea planting areas and cultivate excellent varieties on the basis of the existing tea gardens through guarantees from six aspects including organization, fund, science and technology, policy, publicity and talent.
