The 2022 World Computer Congress will be held in Changsha from September 16th to 17th, according to a press conference held on August 24th.

 

Focusing on "New Journey for the Computing Industry, " the congress is composed of five parts: Preface, Opening, Advancement, Innovation, and Application. In addition, there will be one opening ceremony and forum, ten thematic forums, two innovation competitions, and one achievements exhibition.

 

"Compared with the previous three sessions, this year's congress will further highlight such characteristics as high standards, professional quality, cutting-edge content, empowering industries, openness and cooperation," said Xu Wenli, deputy director of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

 

Furthermore, great efforts will be made to build a high-level event in the world's computing industry and create a cooperation platform for professional exchanges, high-level matchmaking, win-win results and shared benefits. The efforts will help promote changes, innovations and outputs and jointly drive the accelerated development of the computing industry.

 

Changsha has become the permanent venue for the World Computer Congress since 2019. This hosting has given full play to the city's distinct advantages in the computing industry and driven the new development of city-industry integration. A new engine for economic growth has thus been created. More than 300 domestic enterprises in computing and other related industries have been attracted to invest in Changsha.

 

With a total investment of over 140 billion yuan, many influential projects, such as Changsha Wisdom Valley, China Telecom's "Tianyiyun" South China Base, and HKC Optoelectronics, have located in Changsha. This has effectively supported the development of Changsha's advanced computing industry.

 

There are more than 1,200 backbone enterprises in the advanced computing industry in Changsha. In addition, many leading enterprises such as China Electronics Corporation (CEC), China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), Huawei, and Sangfor have set up offices in Changsha. Consequently, a development pattern led by leading state-owned enterprises and supported by small and medium-sized enterprises has taken shape.
