He Maohong, a large grain grower in the village, cultivated 220 mu (about 14.66 hectares) of rice fields this year, and also purchased harvesting machines and field turners. "The yield is about 600 kg per mu, which is almost the same as last year, but the purchase price is up by 9 yuan per 50 kg, and so the income per mu increases by 100 yuan compared with last year." He Maohong said.

 

 

The rice planting area reached more than 89,000 (about 5,933.34 hectares) mu in Zixing City this year. After overcoming the adverse effects of high temperature and drought, the yield is expected to reach more than 36,000 tons, basically the same as last year.
