At present, 307,700 mu (about 20,513 hectares) of camellia oleifera are entering the harvest period in Guiyang County, and farmers are busy harvesting.
Guiyang County has a long history of camellia oleifera production, and is a national demonstration county of the action plan of China’s good grain and oil.
In recent years, the county has made efforts to promote the construction of the whole industrial chain of camellia oleifera, and adhered to take the development path of agricultural industrialization with the joint efforts of company, base, cooperatives and farmers.
Five provincial and municipal leading enterprises in the county have established high-quality camellia oleifera bases covering 160,000 mu (about 10,667 hectares) in more than 10 villages and towns.
High-quality camellia oleifera seeds are purchased at a price of 5% to 20% higher than the market price, improving the enthusiasm of farmers to plant camellia oleifera and their ability to prevent market risks.
Two main production areas were built in Dongcheng Area and Liantang Area in Guiyang County, which radiate the surrounding towns and villages.
This year, the county planted 307,700 mu (about 20,513 hectares) of camellia oleifera, helping more than 50,000 farmers increase income.
