Hunan-Africa trade up 47% in first three quarters

Recently a conference on commerce and analysis of the open economy situation in the third quarter of Hunan Province was held in Changsha. In the first three quarters of this year, Hunan has seen a positive overall trend and steady progress in the development of commerce and open economy.

 

Platforms and channels have been upgraded. About 95% of the 121 reform pilot tasks of the overall plan of the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone have been implemented, and 47 institutional innovation achievements were made including 23 that have played a leading role nationwide. Since the beginning of this year, 11,600 new enterprises have been established, 130 key projects with a total investment of more than 116 billion yuan introduced.
 
The trade volume between Hunan and Africa increased by 47% during the January-September period, more than the total in 2021. The proportion of the volume in the national total rose 0.6 percentage points. The first order based on the local currency settlement for trade with African countries completed customs clearance. The five major logistics channels have operated steadily. 
 
The number of China-Europe freight train trips increased 10.3% to 864. The container throughput of Yueyang's Chenglingji Port was 693,000 TEUs, up 49.5%. 
 
180 trains were launched through the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa sea-rail transport service, while 107 trains operated through the Huaihua-ASEAN freight train service.
 
Commerce and trade entities maintained sustainable development. The foreign trade enterprises with actual achievements in the province reached 7,459, up 11.3%. There were 743 new wholesale, retail, accommodation, and catering companies above designated size. 
 
A total of 527 new foreign-funded enterprises were established in Hunan. There were 93 new enterprises established abroad, bringing the total to 1,826. 
 
A total of 730 new enterprises were registered by returned Hunan entrepreneurs, with 327.86 billion yuan in place. 
 
Five Hunan convenience stores were among China's top 100 convenience stores. Changsha was selected as a national pilot city for 15-minute convenient living circle. Two featured service export bases of human resources and traditional Chinese medicine were approved.
 
Project construction has been accelerated, with efficiency increased. Efforts have been made to implement major investment activities and provincial signing projects. About 36% of funds concerning provincial signing projects were in place, while 75.7% of such projects started construction. 
 
A cooperation agreement on the “one railway and two industrial parks” project between the People's Government of Hunan Province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MOAF) was signed. 
 
A number of key projects have been progressing smoothly, including the Hunan Kibing Solar Technology Co.,Ltd's photovoltaic glass production line project in Malaysia. An agricultural products processing project started construction in Cote d'Ivoire. A hybrid rice project aiding Madagascar was approved.
