Shizishan Village in Suxian District is a summer paradise with an average altitude of more than 800 meters and an average annual temperature of about 21 degrees Celsius.

 

According to local conditions and ecological advantages, farmers’ houses were transformed into homestay inns to develop homestay inn economy, which brought farmers extra money. 

 

Cao Gaojiang, who lives at the foot of Shizikou Mountain, with the support of the rural revitalization assistance team, built a three-storey house in 2021 to start a agritainment business, running an inn with catering.  

 

Homestay inn economy and rural tourism not only increase local villagers’ income, but also promote the sales of local agricultural products.

 

Today, Cao Gaojiang’s homestay inn, with 26 beds, is becoming popular. The homestay inn can receive more than 15 tourists on average every day in peak seasons. He also raises more than 200 chickens and ducks and 30 head of cattle. The alpine vegetables he plants are often sold out.  

 

“As the local environment is getting better, more tourists choose to come here. Thanks to rural tourism, we now have more income and live a happier life.”As a typical representative of increasing family income through homestay inn, Cao Gaojiang encouraged more villagers to follow suit. 

 

In recent years, Shizishan Village has developed the homestay inn and characteristic planting industry based on local conditions, bringing more income and improved quality of life to local people.

 

Next, Suxian District will further strengthen efforts in terms of employment and assistance to increase their income and further help rural revitalization.
