The biennale depicts ecological civilization and the construction of Beautiful China with art works. It’s an important attempt to promote the integration of illustration art into the humanistic expression of urban and rural space and communities. 

 

 

It’s hoped to serve the national strategy of rural revitalization and the construction of the demonstration belt along the Xihe River of Chenzhou City through the practice of “art integrating into rural revitalization”. 

 

 

 

The illustration art has become a kind of painting favored by young artists because of its free expressions and wide application. The Nanling Biennale of Illustrations has been held for three consecutive times, gradually becoming a business card of Hunan and even the whole country’s illustration art, and also a highlight of the art education of Xiangnan University.

 

 

It has received extensive attention from both domestic and foreign illustration artists and enthusiasts, and gathered many elite artists, especially young illustration artists. 

 

This biennale is one of the cultural exchange activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. 

A total of 103 works are exhibited, including 85 Chinese works and 18 Japanese works. 

  

During this period, a series of academic activities, such as thematic lectures, Nanling Forum for Young Painters, and Nanling International Forum for Design Teaching will be held to enrich the academic value of the exhibition and increase the opportunities for exchanges between artists and young students.
