Hunan's consumption market saw steady recovery in first three quarters

Hunan's consumption market saw steady recovery in the first three quarters this year, according to the Hunan Development and Reform Commission. The provincial total retail sales of consumer goods stood at 1.374 trillion CNY, with a year-on-year growth of 3.1% which was 2.4 percentage points higher than the national leverage.

 

Traditional consumption upgraded. More than 1,000 activities to promote consumption of automobile, home appliances, hotel accommodation, and retail sales were organized, such as the Hunan Consumption Promotion Season, the "Taste of Hunan" Gourmet Season, and auto fairs. Nearly one billion CNY of incentive funds in various forms were provided to stimulate consumption.
 
Among the wholesale and retail sale businesses over the designated size, automobile-related commodities registered a retail sales of 126.7 billion CNY, up 6.1% over last year. The new energy automobile and related commodities showed a 150% increase in sales. The retail sales of the accommodation and catering businesses over the designated size hit 21.264 billion CNY, up 10.8% year on year.
 
Night-time economy boomed. Hunan Province rolled out the guidelines on promoting high-quality development of night-time economy and further expanding consumption and employment, and created consumption scenario of "Night-time Hunan".
 
Changsha City has been shortlisted for "China's top 10 influential cities in night economy" for three consecutive years. Changsha's Meixi Lake Meilanfang Commercial Street, Yueyang's Yueyang Tower Tourist Resort, Changde's Liuye Lake Hejie Tourism and Culture Street, Yongzhou's Lingling Ancient Town, and Huaihua's Hongjiang Ancient Commercial Town made the list of second batch of national night-time culture and tourism consumption clusters.
 
Cultural and tourism consumption expanded. A consumption promotion plan was drawn up to boost "Tourism +" consumption around the province. In July, the 2022 Hunan Cultural and Tourism Consumption Season started.
 
During the season, more than 80 preferential policies for cultural and tourism consumption were rolled out, 304 featured activities launched, and 99 travel routes and 191 popular "micro-tourism" spots were recommended. The daily number of visits to Zhangjiajie's Wulingyuan Scenic Area exceeded 10,000. At the 2022 Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo, the transaction volume amounted to more than 45 million CNY on the site.
