Photos taken on November 29 show that villagers pick oranges at a fruit plantation in Longwang Village, Jiahe County, Chenzhou.
In early winter, more than 1,200 mu (80 hectares) of orange trees in the village have entered harvest season. Villagers are busy picking oranges and transporting them to fruit markets in Changsha, Guangzhou and Nanjing.
In recent years, the county government has set up more than 60 fruit and vegetable plantations relying on its selenium-rich soil resources and good natural environment. This greatly helps increase villagers’ income, drive the development of agricultural industry, and boost rural revitalization.
