Recently, a train loaded with 3,300 tons of coal departed from Xintie Petroleum Liyuan Railway Station in Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and arrived at Chenzhou Qiaokou Station. The delivery company was China Resources Power Hunan Co., Ltd. This is the first time that Xinjiang’s coal transported to Hunan Province at a guaranteed price, which will ease the shortage of coal supply for power generation in Chenzhou in winter.
There has been a large shortage of coal in Hunan in a long time, and the coal was mainly transferred from Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. Due to the active coordination of Chenzhou Municipal Government, Beihu District Government and two enterprises in Chenzhou, Hunan transferred 600,000 tons of guaranteed coal from Stone Mining Area in Hami City for the first time.
By the end of this year, 400,000 tons of coal will be transported to Chenzhou and 200,000 tons of coal to Loudi. The 400,000-ton coal is expected to generate 1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
In September 2021, Beihu District Government had a friendly exchange with Yizhou District Government in Hami City. Then Chenzhou Baifu Investment Group Co., Ltd. (a state-owned enterprise in Beihu District), Hunan Xingyuan Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. (located in Chenzhou Economic Development Zone) and Xinjiang Hami Jianhui State owned Assets Management Co., Ltd. jointly established a joint venture (Fujiang Operation Co., Ltd.) in Yizhou District.
Taking advantage of Hami City’s abundant coal resources and strengths of Chenzhou Baifu Investment Group and Hunan Xingyuan Intelligent Equipment in finance and intelligent manufacturing, the three parties will strengthen cooperation in new energy, intelligent logistics and intelligent mines for mutual benefits.
In the future, the economic and trade exchanges between Chenzhou and Hami will become more frequent.
Hami has given Hunan (Chenzhou) electric power enterprises a preferential price of coal, so that Hunan electric power enterprises saved more than 80 million yuan in this coal procurement. Since 2023, Xinjiang’s guaranteed coal to be transported to Hunan will reach 5 million tons, which will bring more benefits for enterprises.
In order to ensure that the first batch of the coal can arrive at Hunan smoothly, the Chenzhou Municipal Government wrote to the Xinjiang Hami Municipal Government for coordinating the transportation with the Urumqi Railway Bureau in July 2022.
The coal for guaranteed supply from Xinjiang delivered to Hunan at a guaranteed price (lower than the market price) will help Hunan (Chenzhou) electric power enterprises reduce power generation costs, ensure power generation load, and guarantee the electricity for production and living .
