With 14 patented technologies, the patrol fire fighting aircraft and communication relay aircraft have been awarded the provincial leading projects in 2022.
Recently, in the production workshop of Hunan Xianglong Aircraft Co., Ltd, Guiyang Industrial Park, a two-seat light sports aircraft with all-metal fixed-wing rolled off the production line. Zhou Shizhong, chairman of the company, introduced that this aircraft independently developed is durable, safe and reliables, which is quite popular with the insiders. And 50 orders have been completed this year.
As the first province to expand its reform on low-altitude airspace management, Hunan has been approved to implement the first low-altitude airspace delineation programme of the country since the reform was launched in September 2020, and has released the first measures for coordinated operation of low-altitude airspace and the first provincial low-altitude chart in the country.
At present, Hunan Province is accelerating the cultivation of a trillion-yuan-scale general aviation industry cluster. Chenzhou City has seized the opportunity to solve the problems of enterprises in terms of land, talents and capital, and actively created a good environment for the development of the aviation industry.
“The local government not only has resolved the problems of land and factory buildings, but also granted special funds to stimulate the talent introduction.” Zhou Shizhong noted that he returned to his hometown Guiyang from Beijing in 2017 to carry out research and manufacturing of general-purpose aircraft and large industrial drones. Now the company has brought together a group of talents from Beihang University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Northwestern Polytechnical University, had 14 patented technologies, 6 of which are invention patents and 8 are utility model patents.
It is reported that the company will next launch highland aircraft, seaplanes, forest fire fighting aircraft, communication relay aircraft, multi-purpose business aircraft and so on. Among them, the patrol fire fighting aircraft and communication relay aircraft have been awarded the provincial leading projects in 2022.
At present, Hunan has become the largest small and medium-sized aviation engine production base in China, with more than 6,000 industrial technicians, and the light general aviation aircraft produced accounting for more than 70% of the national market.
According to an official of Chenzhou, the city will seek to create the “national unmanned aviation pilot area”, “new highland for aviation consumption in the central and southern regions”, “gathering area for aviation industry in Hunan Province” and “operation guarantee base in south Hunan Province”, striving to form a development pattern with three functional zones, two development axes, one industrial park and two aviation towns.
