In Hunan Lawang Food Company, you can see a large area of fresh red chilies, and workers are busy carrying and selecting chilies. Then these chilies will be delivered to the workshop for processing. 

 

Li Baiping, the factory director of the company introduced that the company uses local selenium-rich peppers, strictly complies with national health standards in terms of production technology, pays great attention to warehousing and logistics, so that safe and green products can be provided for consumers. 

 

 

Over the past years, relying on geographical advantages and soil resources, Dalu Village has transferred more than 400 mu (about 26.67 hectares) of land to plant peppers. 

 

This year, the company’s pepper output reaches 900 tons, including 9 varieties, which are mainly sold to the Pearl River Delta region.

At present, the company has more than 30 employees, mainly responsible for assembly line production. There are more than 60 temporary workers, 90% of whom are residents nearby.

 

According to the characteristic development model of "one village, one product", Dalu Village has focused on developing selenium-rich peppers into a characteristic and large-scale industry, helped more than 100 villagers work nearby, and greatly increased the village's collective income.

 

Li Yingpeng, general manager of the company said: “In the future, the company will strive to develop 50,000 mu (about 3,333 hectares) of selenium-rich peppers within five years, with an annual output value of more than 100 million yuan. We will also make selenium-rich pepper into a big industry to enrich the people, and contribute to rural revitalization and prosperity of Jiahe County.”
