Yangshan Ancient Village is located in Zhenghe Town, Guiyang County, 30 kilometers away from Chenzhou City and 15 kilometers away from Guiyang County. It has won many titles, such as “Demonstration Site of National Virtue in Farmhouse Activity”, “National Top Ten Ancient Villages” and “Provincial Historical and Cultural Village”.
The entire Yangshan ancient residential complex covers an area of 15,000 square metres, with more than 80 ancient buildings remaining intact.
What impresses the people about Yangshan is the ancient residential dwellings in this picturesque landscape - the Liaocai Group. The group is located at the northern end of a gently sloping valley, at the mouth of the “big scoop” of Yangshanchong, facing the valley from north to south.
In the distance is the towering Qitian Mountain, and in the near distance is the open field cave, where the river flows in front of the village and makes a big bend to the northwest. Behind the village, the steep Houlong Mountain and the gently rolling hills on either side are like a giant green chair in which the village sits.
The ancient village was built in the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, more than 600 years ago. It faces south from the north, with houses against the mountains, and a stream runs through the village. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, the ancient village looks particularly gorgeous.
