Recently, more than 400 mu (26.67 hectares) of alpine spring tea began to be picked in Huilongshan Yao Township, Zixing City.
At Yaoling Tea Farm, with an elevation of more than 500 meters, more than 10 villagers living nearby came to the farm early in the morning to pick the fresh spring tea leaves.
In spring, the temperature is moderate and the rainfall is abundant. After a long period of rest in the previous autumn and winter, tea leaves are rich in nutrients and become very tender and succulent after sucking the rain and dew of the new spring. That’s why spring tea is particularly loved by people.
Yaoling Tea Factory is a leading agricultural enterprise in Hunan Province. Since its establishment in 2012, it has been implementing “unified agricultural materials procurement and supply, unified technical standards, unified fresh leaves purchase, unified testing, unified processing, and unified brand sales”.
The tea factory produces and processes tea products in strict accordance with the requirements of “Technical Specifications for Quality Control of Agricultural Products with Geographical Indications of Dongjiang Lake Tea”. It has obtained the EU organic tea certification. This year, the tea farm produces more than 10,000 kilograms of tea leaves.
In recent years, the township has introduced tea companies integrating tea planting, production, processing and sales, and adopted the model of “company plus base plus association plus farmer” to guide villagers to develop tea planting and bring jobs to villagers.
At present, the local tea planting area is more than 3,400 mu (about 226.67 hectares), and there are nearly a hundred job positions for tea cultivation, planting, prevention and control, and picking, which can bring the annual income of more than 3 million yuan for the local villagers.
