Nanqiang Town promotes industrial growth through flowers

In recent years, Nanqiang Town, Linwu County, has made great efforts to develop agriculture according to local conditions, and constantly cultivated local characteristic industries through bold innovation. It has promoted industrial growth through flowers and festivals, which helped the town gain more popularity, made its good products and new brands more well-known, and promoted the new development of the agricultural industry in the town.
In the yellow peach base of Yafeng Fruit Planting Professional Cooperative in Linwu County, when seeing from the sky, the thousand-acre peach garden comes into view. The flowers are blooming in profusion in the wind, and thousands of small flowers are clustered around the branches. The garden is bustling with tourists dancing and taking photos in the sea of flowers.
From the middle March to the early April every year, the peach blossoms in the the yellow peach base usher in the best viewing period. The florescence is usually about 15 to 20 days, and the number of tourists per day is basically about 1,000.
This year, the base also launched a special peach tree subscription sales model. By subscribing a fruit tree, consumers can enjoy all the products produced by the tree, and experience fruit picking at any time. The subscription model is deeply loved by consumers.
Yafeng Fruit planting Professional Cooperative was founded in 2016, with a total investment of 12 million yuan, covering an area of more than 1,000 mu (about 66.7 hectares), which is the largest yellow peach planting base in Linwu County.
Since its establishment, the cooperative has provided employment for thousands of workers in the surrounding areas, and the local villagers have created income of more than 1.2 million yuan from the orchard. It is the labor re-employment innovation base in Linwu County.
Yafeng Fruit Planting Professional Cooperative is just a microcosm of the development of Nanqiang’s agricultural industry. In recent years, Nanqiang Town has actively cultivated the characteristic agricultural brands, and created the industrial development pattern of “one village, one product”.
Relying on such leading industries as citrus, camellia oleifera, and flue-cured tobacco, it has optimized the agricultural industrial structure. Depending on 71 agricultural cooperatives and family farms, it has guided the integrated development of nearly 20 kinds of industries, such as kiwifruit, crisp jujube, yellow peach, and siraitia grosvenorii, to fully revitalize characteristic industries of agriculture.
