Since this year, the Bank of Agriculture and Commerce of Yizhang County in Chenzhou City has innovatively provided “homestay loans”, injecting financial vitality into the development of the homestay industry and promoting the high-quality development of the cultural tourism industry.

 

 

Large sums of money are needed to support the rise and sustainable development of homestay inns. At present, the Yizhang Mangshan Lelai Cultural Tourism Resort project is under construction. It is a large-scale homestay hotel introduced by Yizhang County. After completion, it will have 158 medium and high-end guest rooms.

 

The work on the project has been progressing steadily since it was started in September 2022. Influenced by the epidemic in previous years, the decoration of the hotel was blocked for shortage of funds at the beginning of this year. The Bank of Agriculture and Commerce of Yizhang County issued a “homestay loan” of 6 million yuan, ensuring that the main works of the project can be completed in August.

 

 

In addition to providing financial support for high-quality homestay projects, The Bank of Agriculture and Commerce of Yizhang County also pays attention to some small homestay operators. As a characteristic village for hot spring tourism homestay economy in Yizhang County, Tanghuli Village now has dozens of low, medium and high-end homestay inns and receives thousands of tourists daily. 

 

As the rural hot spring tourism is getting popular, Gu Rende, a villager, decided to improve the quality of his homestay inn by using “homestay loans”. The staff of the Bank of Agriculture and Commerce of Yizhang County went to his home with a tablet computer and helped him apply a “homestay loan” of 300,000 yuan within half a working day.

 

 

The homestay industry is a new engine to boost rural tourism. At present, the Bank of Agriculture and Commerce of Yizhang County has visited 169 homestay owners, issued “homestay loans” for 112 homestay owners with a total amount of 25.3 million yuan. There are still 55 households in need of loans with a total amount of 18.85 million yuan.
