Anren market-day is a unique traditional custom of Anren County, which was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.

Legend has it that in ancient times, Emperor Yan came here and led the local people to trade in farming implements and herbal medicines, creating the earliest spring equinox medicine market. 

 

 

It has been passed down for thousands of years, and every year around three days of the Spring Equinox, many tourists and merchants from all over China, as well as the local people of Anren will gather at Anren market-day, and the market is full of herbs and woody fragrance with over 10,000 quintals of herbs.
