The thousands of acres of peach forest on the banks of Dongjiang Lake connects villages along the lake such as Jinshui and Dashuikou. The characteristic corridor integrating sightseeing, picking, and farming experience has become the best carrier of rural tourism in Huangcao Town, Zixing City.

 

After enjoying the peach blossoms, you may as well go to the Changxing Yao Village to experience the customs of the Yao people, and taste a cup of their black tea. The tea has unique and long-lasting aroma and the intriguing aftertaste. It is being developed into a one-million-yuan industry.

 

 

The Dry Braised Mutton from Gaotian Village, the Mandarin Fish Braised with Brown Sauce from Jinniu Village, and the Pig’s Feet Stewed with Traditional Chinese Herbs from Leqiao Village have brought satisfaction to the taste buds of diners.

 

Last year, the fruits in Huangcao Town reaped a bumper harvest again. The annual sales volume of tangerines in Leigongxian Village has reached over 1.5 million yuan. The plums from Qiancheng Village have brought wealth to the villagers.

 

In order to make agriculture a promising industry, Huangcao Town has introduced Zixing Qiaomei Ecological Food Co., Ltd., and launched a series of tourism products featuring local specialties. Taiyu, Yuankeng, Zhoutang and other villages have cooperated with Zixing Nongjiafu Agricultural Professional Cooperative to realize prosperity through the processing of phyllostachys pubescens (a kind of bamboo).

 

The planning and exploration of modern agricultural models such as “land bank” and “one area, one piece of land” have achieved initial results. Villages such as Huangjia, Ledong, and Yangxing have established core demonstration areas for ginger cultivation, with a planting area of over 2,000 mu (about 133.33 hectares). The ginger industry has embarked on a path of large-scale development. The Chinese mugwort has helped people create wealth. 

 

 

At the same time, the appearance of Huangcao Town has also undergone earth-shaking changes. Tourists can enjoy the folk houses with white walls and grey tiles on the Jinniu Island, and have a beautiful encounter with the romantic bougainvillea. In Fenglin Village, you can stay at a homestay inn with unique charm, and take a leisurely walk by the lake with your friends. In Huangcao Village, you can see the smoke rising from the chimney, hear the rooster crowing and the dogs barking.
