Loaded with 10 tons of Yizhang navel oranges, a truck with a GD-HK cross-boundary vehicle license plate pulled out of the inspection site of Chenzhou International Inland Port at 8:30 am, April 12. This was the first time to export agricultural products from Hunan Province through the mode of Fast Customs Clearance. It arrived in Hong Kong at 3:00 pm on that day. Time needed in the whole journey has been shortened by over 40%.
Navel oranges produced by the company are mainly supplied to Hong Kong market. Previously, such fresh products with high requirement of timeliness should be reloaded to a GD-HK cross-boundary vehicle before entering into Hong Kong. Now, the one-stop service in Fast Customs Clearance mode, plus the green channel for agricultural products, allows navel oranges to be delivered directly to Hong Kong. The navel oranges supplied by the company to Hong Kong are expected to exceed one thousand tons.
According to the minutes of working meetings between Hunan Province and General Administration of Customs last July, both parties will optimize the business environment of Hunan ports to support the stable supply of fresh agricultural products from Hunan Province to Hong Kong.
In late 2022, Hunan Province became the second province to implement the transformation of Fast Customs Clearance. As the only pilot city in Hunan Province, Chenzhou City officially opened the mode of Fast Customs Clearance. By the mode, goods to and from Hong Kong will be automatically inspected and released speedily at road ports and local venues, and the cross-border vehicles can be cleared by the customs within 24 hours. In this way, goods to and from these two places will move quickly. As a result, the cost of customs clearance and logistics are efficiently reduced.
In the first quarter of this year, 17 batches of goods declared for import and export in this mode, with the value of 9.73 million dollars.
The opening of this mode will drive the interactive development of international logistics, warehousing, trade and industry in Chenzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Chenzhou is linked to Hong Kong directly, and the delivery time needed is cut by 25 hours compared to traditional means. As the next step, Chenzhou will issue a series of favorable policies to further optimize the business environment, attract specialty agricultural products and make it the sixth largest international logistics channel.
