Ten years have seen great changes in Lanwangmiao Village. The village won the titles of “Provincial Beautiful Village Demonstration Village” and “Provincial Civilization Demonstration Village”.

 

 

As a witness of the village’s changes, Liu Pei, born in the 1980s, is also a participant and promoter.

 

Liu Pei is the deputy Party secretary of Lanwangmiao Village and the founder of Juxian Inn. Like many young people, Liu Pei went to work in the city after marrying into a family in Lanwangmiao Village. She worked as a white collar, ran a building materials shop, and started a company.

 

Though Liu Pei developed well in the city, she had a passion for her hometown. In December, 2015, with the approval of the construction project at Xihe River National Wetland Park in Chenzhou, Liu Pei’s determination to return home to start her own business grew stronger. After deliberation, Liu Pei and her husband decided to return to their hometown to start their own business.

 

 

Liu Pei transferred the land and established a grape planting cooperative to plant “Sunshine Rose” grapes. As a “new farmer”, Liu Pei, who is enthusiastic and diligent, led many villagers to plant grapes on a large scale. At the same time, since fruit picking is getting popular, more and more people come to Lanwangmiao Village for a visit.

 

A bold idea occurred to her. Liu Pei decided to build an inn to let those who come for picking stay longer at the village.

 

The construction of the inn was suspended for the shortage of funds. After discussing it with her husband, Liu Pei sold the house in Chenzhou City to finance the construction of the inn.

 

In 2019, “Juxian Inn” opened. The business has been good since its opening. Even during the pandemic, business did not suffer much due to the small number of people and beautiful environment.

 

 

Juxian Inn ecological and agricultural park helps solve the employment of more than 50 people, and resettlement of 60 rural workers. At the same time, Liu Pei’s success plays a leading role, driving nearly half of the surrounding farmers to participate in business. Lanwangmiao Village is booming in all walks of life.

 

When it comes to the future plan, Liu Pei is going to explore the farming culture of Lanwangmiao Village, make more villagers involved in the plan to share the dividends of tourism development, and gradually expand the village collective economy.
